Special Meeting Planned to Deal With Lawsuit Funding
Posted by auroracitizen on December 19, 2010
Aurora Council has called a special meeting for Tuesday December 21 to deal with the Town of Aurora funding Phyllis Morris for her lawsuit against 3 private citizens and this blog as well as unnamed bloggers.
The purpose will be to re-consider the original motion that allowed the then Mayor to take “any and all” action — which resulted in Phyllis launching a $6 million lawsuit funded with your tax dollars.
The meeting is at 7:00 pm if you are interested in attending.

I just returned from the special council meeting. I was interested in what Gallo had to say. He at least acknowledged that he would not have voted for the motion on Sept 14 if he had known it would result in a lawsuit against private citizens. Easy to say that now!!
I asked him specifically on several occasions (at least 3) prior to the election if he would have voted yes to litigation against taxpayers. Each time he refused to answer the question and gave me ambiguous, fluffy politician-speak responses.
Although I am glad he made the acknowledgement tonight, IMO it does not require the same level of integrity and morality to speak up against the former crowd now that he has a seat at the table again. I would have had respect for him if he had answered my question WHEN it was asked, not two and a half months later.

ALL members of Council should be present and must provide a unanimous vote to reconsider not only the original motion but follow this up with a demand from former Mayor Morris for the return of all funds paid out by the town on behalf of her lawsuit.
This is not a split decision matter.
Council members who do neither of the above will be judged as wanting and their actions for the next four years will be considered as suspect.

Augustinius,
You gotta be kidding me.
“ALL members of Council should be present and must provide a unanimous vote to reconsider not only the original motion but follow this up with a demand from former Mayor Morris for the return of all funds paid out by the town on behalf of her lawsuit.”
What happen to democarcy? Why can’t the councilors vote as they see fit? It may be against your understanding about what is fair and just, but you must agree that we may not all agree with you. For all we know, you might be one of the individuals being sued.
Let’s be fair and just and allow the councillors to hear the issue and decide accordingly.
You are kidding, aren’t you?
